Wow, what a great dining experience. I had miso soup, ginger salad, and hamachi kama (grilled collarbone of yellowtail) along with white crane sake (a symbol of friendship and generosity). I concluded the meal with a delicious version of japanese cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious and reminds me of my travels in Japan. My server, Adam, was very friendly and patient with my questions about the menu. I will definitely be back. For a delicious and authentic Japanese dining experience, you must go to Zen Sushi & Sake.

This place should be a Michelin star restaurant. Run, don’t walk to Zen Sushi and Sake. I am from New York City, and my dad lived in Japan. This is THE BEST Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. I have never seen my husband close his eyes while eating until I came here. The fish is flown from Japan.

Weekend in Lexington and found this place on Trip Advisor. Food was delicious and fresh, our server Kayla was great. I liked that they had a separate Japanese fish menu. I tried all 3 of the Fatty Tuna sashimi choices and I’m not embarrassed to say that I couldn’t tell the difference. The fatty tune (high quality) was buttery…but…my palate is not experienced enough to have known which piece I was eating if I wasn’t looking at the fat streaking through it. But, all the rolls we tried were distinctive and tasted fresh. Place is not over crowded or noisy for a Friday.

As well traveled “foodies” and have dined in many Sushi restaurants ..this place hits the top of our list !! Our server was so personable and attentive. The Saki was served overflowed in the glass into a small wooden box for luck and prosperity..what a delightful touch to start the night! We ordered the Fried Dumplings appetizer… Delish ! Then moved onto main course .. we ordered the Zander, the Hajimari , and the Krispy Krunch …and the Volcano!!! ALL WERE EXCEPTIONAL!!! We highly recommend dining here !! WHAT A GEM !!

Really good sushi. Our service was great. We picked this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and my partner has celiac - we had a great experience. Lots of options and our server was very knowledgeable. Comfortable dining experience especially for a shopping center style location, clean and bright decor. Would definitely come again next time we visit

We sat at the sushi bar and it was such a fun experience! They made the most beautiful displays out of our sushi. It was fresh and bursting with flavor! It was so good we came back the next day. We were visiting from Texas and wish we had this place near us! So so good. Just go!

I was visiting from Utah and asked someone in Costco for recommendations about their favorite restaurants in the area. He was from TX, but visits Lexington regularly. He highly recommended Zen Sushi and said Toyota executives from Japan visiting the nearby Toyota plant frequently visit because the fish is flown in fresh from Japan several times weekly. I ordered 3 rolls, Latin Heat, Xooxer (favorite), and incredible (2nd Favorite) the xooxer had grilled steak on top, and had such a delicious savory flavor.
